Japanese Kento Momota came through with the worthiest victory after he brought down top seed Viktor Axelsen, 21-14, 21-9, in snatching the men’s singles gold of the Blibli Indonesian Open 2018 set July 3 to 8, 2018.

It capped Momota’s fairy tale run after he also eliminated other big guns like fourth seed Srikanth Kidambi of India in the opening round and seventh pick Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in semifinals.
