Manny Pacquiao recalled his old, dazzling self after he came through with an impressive seventh-round stoppage of Argentina’s Lucas Matthysse in the Fight of Champions held July 15, 2018 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Pacquiao, a few months before turning 40 entering the ring, knocked down Matthysse thrice before essaying the sensational triumph in a fight that was witnessed by nothing less than President Duterte himself and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
The Philippine Senator took the welterweight title from Matthysse, who couldn’t backed up his words of sending the former to retirement.
It was the first win via stoppage by Pacquiao since knocking out Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto nine years ago.
All in all, Pacquaio posted his 60th win against seven losses with two draws while registering his 39th knockout win.
